Job Title: Surgical Technologist – CVOR (Open Heart)

Shift: Days, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (5x8s), guaranteed 40 hours/week 
Pay Rate: $68/hour ($2,720/week), weekly pay
Employment Options: W2 with stipend and medical/dental/vision benefits, or 1099

 

Overview:
Advantage Staffing Services is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist to join our client’s surgical team in Springfield, OR. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in scrubbing open heart procedures as the first scrub and bring expertise in supporting complex cardiac cases in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room, including the sterile field, instruments, supplies, and solutions.
• Function as first scrub for open heart surgeries and other cardiovascular procedures.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
• Maintain the integrity of the sterile field throughout the surgical case.
• Manage and prepare surgical equipment and specimens.
• Accurately perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts to prevent retained surgical items.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
• Participate in required on-call coverage.

Requirements:

• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited or equivalent Surgical Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent surgical technology experience with demonstrated expertise in open heart/cardiac procedures.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and cardiovascular surgical practices.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt in high-acuity situations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
